Our Statement of Faith

Our Statement of Faith

We believe that God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. We believe that He exists as three entities: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Spirit. We believe that Christians can hear the voice of God through the Word, through gifts of the Spirit, and through dreams, visions, and spontaneous thoughts. We communicate with God through prayer, praise and worship.

We believe that the Bible is the authoritative word of God. All of it is inspired by God and all of it is profitable for teaching, reproof, correction and training in righteousness, and that it equips the Christian for every good work.

We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sins and transgressions, and was raised from the dead after three days in hell. He ascended to the right hand of the Father where he remains to make intercession for us.

We believe that Jesus will return to gather the church to Himself and that those members who are alive and remain will follow the resurrection of those who have died.

We believe that the believer’s purpose is to glorify God in their bodies and through their deeds.

We believe that the church is the literal body of Christ and is the pillar and support of the truth in the world. We believe that the Christian life is to be lived in fellowship with Christ and can’t be lived without fellowship with one another. We believe that we are to live an exposed Christian life, which means that we live every area of our lives in an open and transparent manner. We purpose to live our lives in community, not isolation.

We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of coming judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, empower, and gift all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells all who believe in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher and guide. We believe that the Holy Spirit leads us and guides us to all truth, declares to us the things that are to come, brings Christ’s words to our remembrance, and causes us to walk in obedience to God’s Word.

We believe that salvation is available to everyone who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. Belief is only valid when it is powerful enough to change a person’s behavior. One of the first behaviors to change is submission to the Word in obedience to water baptism.
